Correlation of Fiber Intake to Non-Fasting Blood Glucose among Overweight Women

Fiber roles as a vital key in maintaining blood glucose people with diabetes mellitus. It prevents the breaking of carbohydrates into monosaccharides and may help control levels. In addition, fiber will make us feel full longer, so we can eat less prevent overeating. Women have higher risk developing hyperglycemia than men. This study aimed to analyze correlation between intake non-fasting among Overweight Women. was quantitative cross-sectional approach, conducted at Telaga Biru Health Center, Gorontalo District, 2019. The population women BMI > 25, about 115 were involved sample. data collected including 24-hour recall determine level measured by random test using Accu check device. Then, analyzed through Chi-square Test significance p < 0.05 SPSS for windows. Among overweight Public Gorontalo, 93.9% respondents had low intake, 23.5% categorized hyperglycemic. average daily 15.82 g/day, maximum 38.90 g/day. Meanwhile, 126.67 mg/dL, minimum values 61 mg/dL 381.0 mg/dL. Daily did not correlate significantly levels p-value= 0.554 (α= 0.05). is correlated high within
